My University Building Priority Tier List

Construction queues in My University lie politely. Every building looks like progress. Only a few print cash or unlock the next rank. This list is spend order. Pair it with how to make money and the school upgrade icon. If a hall is really a staffing problem, leave for faculty and labs.

S tier: year-one factories

Canteen stoves, the recipe lab, the secret-recipe workshop, and public shops (e-sports stall first, shuttle bus never). These keep the campus alive before chefs print. Forty stoves upgraded together beat a pretty classroom. The canteen guide is the long version of this row.

School activity slots are S even though they are not concrete. Prestige ticks you skip in year one do not come back. The first-decade checklist treats them as a building on purpose.

A tier: rank hardware

Library rating work is A from the first ranks. Book mix, refresh, and comfort gear are cheaper than missing a vocational-to-bachelor gate. The library page is the rating homework. One strong teaching building is A in the vocational years; a second teaching building becomes A as you approach bachelor.

Sports halls jump to A at rank four if you have a cash cushion, because expansions take three years. Before that they are C. After capped halls and the 50 percent conversion they behave like a second canteen and can sit next to S for income, but the unlock timing keeps them in A on this list. See the sports center page.

B tier: mid-game muscle

Labs and the academy are B until graduate points appear, then they become A. Do not staff them with researchers aged 55–64. Club buildings are B: expand to cap, place every club, ignore optional tasks. Dorm bed count is B. Dorm gadgets are C. Details live on the dorms page.

C tier: score decorations

Air-conditioners, campus net flexes, robot vacuums, and most postcard furniture are C. They feed a composite score and a screenshot. They do not pay a stove. Build them when the kitchen and the icon are quiet.

F tier: traps

The shuttle bus, empty sports halls in year one, and logistics overstaffing with yacht wages. These are not buildings you upgrade. They are leaks. Event-driven leases that occupy lots belong with the event list, not in a construction win.

How to break a tie

If two S items fight, finish the stove that unlocks a star, then tick a public shop. If A items fight, read the white school icon and build the blocker. If you are arguing about a C item, you are already rich enough to take a walk. Codes will not place a hall; the codes hub is honest about that.

Patches change panels more than they change this order. July 2026 clarified academy and logistics UI. It did not make dorm gadgets into a factory. Check the Updates Hub when a new public shop appears so we can slide one row. Until then, spend like a principal who wants 985, not like a tourist who wants a prettier quad.

A useful habit is to name the queue out loud before you tap build. If you cannot say “this pays a star” or “this clears an icon checkbox”, you are buying a C-tier toy. The review already warned you the cartoon lawn is prettier than the ledger. Let the lawn wait. If cash and a rank gate fight, the gate wins only when the kitchen already exists; a broke 211 attempt is just a stylish bankruptcy. Keep the codes hub closed while you spend.
